Geraldine “Mama Jeri” Benge Birkholz, 80, of Landis, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 10th, 2018.
She was born November 28, 1937 in Iredell County, NC to the late Hattie Ashby Benge and Walter W. Benge. Jeri retired from the DOT in Salisbury and drove for TJ Taxi in Kannapolis.
Those left to cherish her memory include, children, Elaina Marlow of Landis, NC; Paula Daughtery of Camden, SC; Richard Wetherbee of China Grove, NC; Candace Mundy of Gulfport, FL; Brenda Sproul Carpenter of Taylorsville, NC; Waynette Allison of Valdese, NC; grandchildren, Tim Smith, Johnny Wallace, Randy Daughtery, Christopher Daughtery, William Daughtery, Jonah Wetherbee, Keith Wetherbee Jr., Dekota Stewart, Tarin Miller, Joshua Allison, and Shanah Allison; 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ager Lee Vanderburg; son, Keith D. Wetherbee; and granddaughter Crystal A. Wetherbee.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, February 18th, 2018 at Fisher Street Baptist Church, 810 Fisher St, Concord, NC 28027, with Pastor Joy Spry officiating.
