Glenda Carmella Autry, 47, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House after a long battle with cancer.
She was born November 19, 1972 in Sampson County, NC to Stonewall and Sandra Autry. Glenda graduated from East Wake High School. She took violin lessons in high school and from that she learned to play piano, guitar and the banjo. She sang and wrote gospel and folk music. Later she graduated from Paul Mitchell Academy, becoming an excellent hair stylist and working at Great Clips. She loved making people laugh, work and playing music. Glenda could pull apart a car and put it back together. She loved working with tools and building things from scratch. Give her some wood, a hammer and watch her go. Glenda enjoyed singing, drawing, painting, playing with her dogs and loved God.
Glenda was preceded in death by her grandfather, Elmer Glenn Morgan; uncle, Glenn Elmer Morgan; aunts, Eloise Morgan, and Adria Lynn Simmons.
In addition to her parents, Glenda is survived by her wife, Tonia Burdett; adopted son, Emory Lee Pelfrey; nieces, Kimberly Dawn Goodacre Taylor, Jackson Lee Taylor, Shelbie Ruth Taylor; nephews, Jackson Lee Taylor and Robert Michael Goodacre Jr.
There will be a memorial service held from 7-9pm on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 205 St. Paul’s Church Rd. Salisbury, NC 28146.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, 1229 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
