Guy Webster McGuire, 79, of Salisbury, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born on December 25, 1942 in Rowan County to the late Howard McGuire and Bertha Guy McGuire. Guy proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Guy worked as a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor for the City Salisbury until his retirement. He enjoyed weekly golf with his good friend Jim Hughes and his nephew Jeff Brown. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the mountains, and enjoyed his two dogs.
In addition to his parents, Guy was preceded in death by his siblings, Claudia Trivette, Jack McGuire, Fred McGuire, Doug McGuire, Mary Lewis McGuire, Priscilla McGuire, Blake McGuire.
Guy is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kellie Graham McGuire; daughters Kimberly McGuire Watkins of Virginia, Kelly McGuire Johnson of Haw River, North Carolina, five granchildren: Taylor Falls, Camden Falls, Hunter Bledsoe, Walker Johnson, and Lilly Johnson. A sister, Jean McGuire Chabon of Greensboro, North Carolina.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.

Guy also had a daughter, Denise Arlene Gurley, who pre-deceased him on June 30, 2019. He is survived by three grandchildre, Charlie Peters (Madison) of Tennessee, Spencer Peters and Madison Peters, both of Houston, Tx and a great-grandson, Tripp Peters of Tennessee.

I just learned of Guy’s passing. He was my best buddy in the Navy. We had a lot of wonderful times in the mid sixties. We visited by phone once in the late eighties. Sorry that we didn’t connect more. Great friend to have!
