Gwyn Summers Jacobs, 59, of Concord, NC went to be with her heavenly father on Sunday September 9, 2012 at her home after declining in health for the past 15 months. Mrs. Jacobs was born December 7, 1952 in Newport, Rhode Island the daughter of Margaret Jean Summers and the late James Arey Summers.
Gwyn was a graduate of Boyden High School in Salisbury, NC and attended Greensboro College. She was the former owner of Best Temporary Services in Salisbury, NC from 1986-1995 where she enjoyed helping people because “People Matter”. Mrs. Jacobs was a charter member of Crossroads UMC in Concord where she had been active in the prayer ministry and she enjoyed praying and blessing the babies in the nursery. Gwyn was very active in mission outreach and was also a part of the Altar Ministry as well as a member of Ministries of Living Waters in Rockwell.
Survivors include her husband; Mike Jacobs, 3 sons; Stephen, Shannon and Jonathan Keenan of Delaware, Shawn, Nicole and Lillian Keenan of Kentucky, and Lucas Jacobs of Concord, mother; Jean Hill and husband Loyd of Salisbury, Sister; Nancy Friend and husband Chip of Concord, brother; Craige Summers and wife Kaye of Durham.
There will be a Visitation at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Concord on Thursday September 13 at 3:00 PM with a Celebration of Life to follow at 4:00 PM
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis NC, 28081.
