Harold Francis “Butch” Strickland, Jr., 67, of Gold Hill, previously of Binghamton, N.Y., died at his residence Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010. Mr. Strickland was born May 16, 1943and was the son of the late Harold Francis and Susie Matson Strickland. Mr. Strickland graduated from high school in Binghamton, NY, was a U.S. Navy veteran from 1962-1966, and worked in the automotive parts manufacturing industry.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Strickland was preceeded in death by his wife, Judy Brindle Strickland and a son, Jerom Anthony Strickland.

Mr. Strickland is survived by his daughters, Lorie Ann Strickland, Shannon Lee Strickland, and Sherri Lynn Crisco of Wilmington, Lisa Densie Kesler and husband Terry of Salisbury, and Pinney Sue Strickland of Concord, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
