Harvey Dee Potter, 81, of Lexington, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Friday, December 7, 2018.
He was born May 8, 1937 in Todd, NC to the late Howard Winebarger and Ruby Potter. Harvey retired as a Truck Driver from Southeast Fleet Service.
He was a member of Holloways Baptist Church. Harvey loved watching NASCAR, his favorite driver was Martin Truex. He also enjoyed football, his team was the Carolina Panthers. Harvey enjoyed trout fishing, trips the mountains, and meals with his family at Shatley Springs, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his brothers, Max R. Potter and James Kimberlin.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jean Potter, whom he married on March 25, 1967, she was the love of his life; daughter, Deena Potter Jackson and husband Andy of Lexington; son, Harvey Randall Potter and wife Jamie of Lexington; granddaughter, Andrea Renee Jackson; grandsons, Evan Zachary Jackson, Owen Thomas Potter and William James Potter; brothers, Charles Phillip Miller and wife Charlotte, and Jr. Kimberlin; sisters, Frances Herron, and Linda Laskowski; special sister-in-law, Anne Williams and husband Gerald; special friend, Jerry Sowers and wife Nell.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Friday, December 21, 2018, 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm at Holloways Baptist Church 131 Briggs Rd, Lexington, NC 27292.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 21, 2018, in the Holloways Baptist Church, with Dr. Dana Slack, officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holloways Baptist Church 131 Briggs Rd, Lexington, NC 27292 or to Hospice of Davidson County 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.

I am so sad to be reading this! I can still see and hear Harvey and my dad sitting and talking in Smokey Joes! He was a great guy who will be so missed! Hugs and prayers to all the family!!
