Harvey Franklin Williams, 85, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday May 25, 2017 at Trinity Oaks in Salisbury. Mr. Williams was born on April 21, 1932 in Salisbury, NC to the late Walter Williams and Josie Schoolfield Williams. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Harvey enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and cooking on his grill. He loved to watch NASCAR, Duke Basketball, and spend time with his family and friends. Mr. Williams also enjoyed going to the beach with his family and his fishing buddies.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Walter “Nick” Williams, and James Donald “Jimmy Don” Williams; and his son-in-law, Jody Peeler.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha Beaver Williams of Salisbury; and a daughter, Toni Peeler of Salisbury.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Providence United Methodist Church (6450 Bringle Ferry Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146) conducted by Pastor, Aldana Allen. A Military Graveside Service will be held at the Old Salisbury National Cemetery (202 Government Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144) on Wednesday May 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Military Honors will be provided by the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church – Building Fund, or to Shiloh United Methodist Church – Homework Hut (P.O.Box 315, Granite Quarry, NC 28072).

Toni, so sorry to hear about your Dad. I was away this weekend and just saw it on FaceBook. Your Dad was always so much fun. Boy, I bet he and Jody are up there pulling in a nice red drum right now! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your Mom at this time.
