Isaac Haynes Wallwork (Haynes), 48, of Charlotte passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 surrounded by family.
Haynes was born on October 18, 1974 in Charlotte, NC to Jane Howe Wallwork and the late Alfred McKinley Wallwork. Haynes was a graduate of Riverview High School in East Sandwich, Massachusetts. A special place where he was embraced for his intellectual differences and provided space to excel in math and make friendships. Haynes moved into UMAR Christ Church Home where he lived for 22 years, and formed special friendships with his housemates, met his adoring girlfriend, Rebecca King, and enjoyed an active social life. He loved dancing, especially at the Joy Prom, creating art for others at the UMAR Arts Center, attending Circle of Friends, and sharing his faith and love for Jesus in his Joy Community at Providence UMC. Haynes was a member of the Special Olympics Bocce Ball team and won a regional medal.
Haynes’ love for everyone he knew and his love of Christ was widely known. He was extremely well versed in the Bible, and passionate about sharing his love for Jesus. This brought him joy and comfort.
Another one of his greatest joys was sending handmade cards to people on their birthdays and other special times. He also had a love of music, which was mostly Christian; however, he was also a big fan of the Beach Boys and the Beatles, including his favorite, “Let it Be.”
In addition to his father, Haynes was preceded in death by aunts, Beverly Poag, Lavinia Williams, and Susan Howell, uncle Joe Wallwork, and cousins, Kathy Howe, Carey Deaton, and Tripp Kimbrough. In addition to his mother, Haynes is survived by his sister Susan Denny, husband Dave and nephew Reed Denny. His extended family includes aunts and uncles Henry and Beth Howe, Emily and Ed Parker, Jim Poag, Geoff Wallwork, Ellen Treon and many cousins.
Family and friends of Haynes Wallwork are cordially invited to attend his celebration of life service at 3:00PM at Providence United Methodist Church, 2810 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28211, on Thursday, December 8, 2022. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. A private internment ceremony will be held at the columbarium at Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Providence UMC Joy Community or UMAR Arts Center.
Carolina Cremation of Charlotte and Salisbury is assisting the Wallwork family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.
