James Cleveland Perdue, 77, of Lexington went home to be with his Heavenly Father on September 17, 2014. James was born on August 1, 1937 in Davidson County, a son of the late Jasper Raymond and Lilly Tussey Perdue.
James attended Lexington City Schools, he was a furniture finisher by trade and had most recently worked for Heritage Clock. James was a member of Psalm 91, he enjoyed wood working, baseball and spending time with his family, especially his grand babies.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by a sister, Rachel Perdue Moody.
James is survived by his wife and best friend of over 58 years, Mary Ann Moody Perdue of Lexington. Sons, Jacky Perdue and wife Drinda, Rev. Ronnie Perdue and wife Penny, David Perdue and wife Sherry, and Jeffrey Perdue and wife Emily; daughter, Mary Carter and husband Stan. Grandchildren, Scott Perdue, Crystal Scott and husband Robbie, Kristy Perdue and fiance Chris, Kerry Perdue, Cassie Rowles and husband Adam, Specialist E4 Jerry Curtis, Daniel Perdue, Joseph Perdue, Jeremiah Perdue, Alisa Perdue, Chasity Lanier and husband Jody, and Samantha Young and husband Robert. Great grandchildren, Jacob Tollie, Kacie Perdue, Aaliyah Scott, Chyann Scott, Nolan Lanier, Matthew Lanier, Zolan Bee and Rileigh Curtiss. Brother, Bobby Perdue and wife Joyce; and sister, Elizabeth Mesimer.
There will be a Memorial Service on Friday September 19, 2014 at Psalm 91 at 12:00 Noon (930 Michael Rd., Lexington NC), conducted by Rev. Max Shoaf and Rev. Ronnie Perdue. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to the service.
