Mr. James Everete Stanton, 63, of Salisbury, NC, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at his residence. He was born January 29, 1952, in Bennettsville, SC, to the late Everete Stanton and Ruby Nell Flowers McEachin.

Mr. Stanton was a graduate of St. Andrews College with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was the former Coroner of Marlboro County, SC and was also a former restaurant owner.

He is survived by one son, one daughter, his grandson, and a great-aunt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to W.G. “Bill” Hefner V.A. Medical Center, Attn: Voluntary Service Office, 1601 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury, NC 28144.

    Dear Stanton Family,

    I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. We went to high school together here in Bennettsville way back when and I can honestly say that he was one of the very few people that everybody liked. My prayers are with all of you.
