James Pearl Poole,85, of Lexington, passed away on December 10, 2014 at Hinkle Hospice House surrounded by family. Mr. Poole was born on September 24, 1929, in Davidson County, to the late Glenn Pearl Poole and Sarah Bean Poole.
James was a truck driver and worked for Tarheel Banana Trucking in Advance, NC before retiring in 2001. He enjoyed his work and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Poole, two step sons, Donald Gene Hutchens and Roger Hutchens, and a step daughter, Grace Whitley.
Mr. Poole is survived by, three step sons, Harold Hutchens of Linwood, Jerry Hutchens of Lexington, and John Martin of Winston; a step daughter, Misty Shelby of Lexington; a granddaughter, Cathy Hutchens Nealey of the home who was also his care giver; and a nephew that was like a son to him, Joe Poole of Fries, VA.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday December 20th at 2:00 PM at Gospel Light Tabernacle (600 Alexander St. Thomasville, NC 27360) conducted by Rev. Dale Elbertson. A cover dish dinner will follow the service.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Tracy Roberson for the care she gave him as well as the staff of Hospice of Davidson County.

Uncle Pearl, its been many many years since I last saw you….. but I will never forget who you were.
You may be gone now, but to a much better place. You don’t have anymore pain, or sickness. We will meet again some day.
