James William Malloy

James William Malloy, 67, of Lexington passed away at his residence Thursday, January 1, 2015. Mr. Malloy was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 17, 1947 a son of the late James Joseph Malloy and Dorothy Valentine Malloy.

He received an Associate degree in Biology in New York and an Associate Degree in Psychology from High Point College. Mr. Malloy was a counselor at Tellurian Ucan, Inc. in Madison, Wisconsin for 15 years before retiring.

Jim was an avid fisherman, enjoyed snow skiing and riding motorcycles in the dessert. He attended Woodstock and was a true tree hugger. Jim was very good with people and enjoyed his work in counseling.James Malloy Lexington Carolina Cremation Lexington

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph and John.

On September 22, 1979 he married the love of his life and best friend, Brigitte Ritter Malloy. Also surviving are children; Norbert, John, Melanie and Michelle; and siblings, Gina, Michael, Kevin, Bernie, Dan, Patrick, Timothy, Celia, Thomas and Mary; five grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. Jim was idolized by his 26 nieces and nephews. Uncle Jim devoted his life to share his love, wisdom and sense of humor with every one of them. They all held a special place in his heart. Never questioning how they shined in his eyes….

Services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday in the Chapel Hall of Our Lady Rosary Catholic Church in Lexington by Hospice Chaplain Dave.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.

    We are saddened to hear of Jimmy’s passing. Our thoughts are with all of Jim’s family, his children, his many brothers and sisters and especially to Brigitte. Hoping your grief will soon be replaced with the endless happy memories you will always cherish of Jimmy’s life.
