Jerry Gobble, 65, of Lexington, lovingly known to friends as “Goob” passed peacefully on January 6, 2026, at Hinkle Hospice House of Lexington, NC with his brother and sister by his side, after a long battle of health issues.

He was born January 4, 1961 in Lexington, NC to Page Donald Gobble and Mable Jo Morris Gobble. He is survived by a son, Joseph Darrell (JD) Gobble of Lexington; brother, Donald (Don) Gobble and wife Donna of Pittsburgh PA; sister, Donna Gobble Lookabill of Lexington.

Jerry was a loyal friend to those he loved. He was a die hard Steelers fan and attended as many games as possible with Donald, Ken (recently deceased) and various friends. He was a member of Sons of AMVETS Post 13 and enjoyed shooting pool and making jokes with his many friends there. He had a long career with PPG Industries and later became a conductor then engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Jerry’s passion was to be on the water in a boat or fishing from the pier at Kure Beach.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
