Jerry Lane Spencer, 78, of Salisbury, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury NC.
Jerry was born October 29, 1939 in Hickory to the late Ralph and Violet (Hunt) Spencer. He graduated from St. Stephens High School in 1958 and Lenoir Rhyne College in 1967. He served as a Radio Traffic Analyst in the US Air Force Security Service from 1958 to 1962. He worked as a Radio Announcer for WIRC and WHKY in Hickory, as well as during his time in the Air Force. Jerry retired from a career as a Pharmaceutical Salesman for Wyeth Laboratories and was one of the leading salesmen in his region for over 30 years, winning numerous awards. On March 12, 1965, he married Linda Ann Hunsucker in Conover, NC and together they had three children. Jerry was a lifelong Christian and devoted himself to serving his church and family. He had a love of music and singing and was part of the St John’s Men’s Chorus in Salisbury. He enjoyed nature and spending time in the outdoors, hiking and gardening. He also enjoyed reading and spending time with his children and granddaughter. To Jerry, his greatest accomplishment in life was raising his three children to love and serve the Lord and live a Christian life.

Our thoughts and prayers to Linda and family. It was our sorrow to read of Jerry’s passing. We remember of the possibility of your family living in Indiana when Jerry had an offer from Eli Lilly at Indianapolis. Jerry gave his Aunt Pearle a visit at the Atlanta airport when she had a long lay over. As kids when we visited N.C. he was in the mix of our fun in the woods and creek. Jerry will be missed but is now receiving his reward from God. Comfort , Peace and Blessings to all.
