Jesse James Jacobs, 72, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday July 2, 2015 at his residence surrounded by family. Jesse was born on June 21, 1943 in Robertson County, NC to the late John Jacobs and Virginia Rogers.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Martin Marietta (formerly Superior Stone). He enjoyed farming in his spare time and watching old westerns and T.V. Programs. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and wife Nancy.
He is survived by his spouse of 46 years, Nancy Owen Jacobs; a daughter, Patti Sue Stone and husband Michael of Salisbury; three brothers, Johnny Rogers and wife Ethel of Red Springs, NC, Verzell Jacobs of Red Springs, NC, and Curtis Rogers and wife Mary of Detroit, MI; two brother-in-laws, Charles Carroll Owen and wife Bonnie of Salisbury, and Bruce W. Owen and wife Debbie of Salisbury; and a granddaughter, Selena Stone.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 8, 2015 from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at Stallings Memorial Baptist Church in the Rhyne Building in Salisbury, NC. A Memorial Service will be held following the visitation at 11:00 AM in the Rhyne Building at Stallings Memorial Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Michael Herring and Pastor Jeremy Smathers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, 817 South Main St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
