John H. Brooks, 63, of Rockwell, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.
He was born on July 19, 1955 in Robeson County, NC to the late Franklin Brooks and Emerelt Brewer. John retired from Dryes Auto Crushing after 20 years of service and was of the Methodist faith. In his spare time, he loved working in the yard and keeping it decorated.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angel Austin.
John is survived by his wife, Wendy Knight Brooks; daughters, Karen Brooks of Balitmore, MD; and Emmy Reid of Salisbury; step-daughters, Misty Burleson of Rockwell; Jessica Bracewell (Chris) of Kannapolis; sons, John Brooks Jr. (Patty) of Baltimore, MD and Jonathan Brooks (Katie) of Rockwell; 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
