Johnny A. Stubbs, 75, of Albemarle passed away on Wednesday August 19, 2015 at his home. He was born on August 27, 1939 in Bennettsville, SC to the late Frances Eugene and Barbara G. Stubbs.
Johnny was the retired owner and operator and of Stubbs Paint Contracting. Mr. Stubbs truly enjoyed his work and mastered the craft for many years until an unexpected illness left him unable to continue. In spite of numerous setbacks, including battling alzheimer’s the last several years, he persevered for over 20 years before succumbing to his disabilities. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, James Williams and Leroy Stubbs, as well as his ex-wife and life companion, Judy D. Stubbs.
He is survived by his daughter, Johnna Sanders and husband Junior of Albemarle; a grandson, Andrew J. Sanders of New York; two brothers, Charles Stubbs of Monroe, and Thad Stubbs of Oakboro; three grand kitties, and a host of nieces and nephews.
There are no services scheduled at this time.
