Joyce Ann Tucker, 68, of Concord, passed away on Friday June 3, 2016 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Ms. Tucker was born on July 09, 1947 in Asheboro, NC to the late James Tucker and Esther Lanier Tucker.
Joyce was of the Pentecostal faith and was a past member of Rockwell Foursquare Church and Faith Alive Church of Kannapolis. She attended most of the churches that her Pastor Raymond Hinson preached at. Later in life, she was a frequent listener of Jimmy Swaggart who preached on the Son Life Broadcasting Network. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, and keeping up with her family and friends on Facebook. Joyce enjoyed going to the beach and sitting on the balcony overlooking the ocean. Most of all, she loved to be with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and take care of her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Larry “Bobo” Calicutt Jr.; a sister, Wilma Tucker; and a brother, Junior Tucker.
Joyce is survived by three daughters, Wilma Shives and husband Darrell Shives of Concord, Joy High of Concord, and Wanda LoBianco and husband Bobby Lobianco of Salisbury; three sisters, Peggy, Katherine, and Ramell; nine grandchildren: Jerry Smith, Joseph Smith, Lacey Russell. Michael Smith, Crystal Smith, James Shives, Gabby Barker, Brittany High. Kealey High, and fifteen great grandchildren Annastasia Andrews, Eli Dalton, Kayden Smith. Landon Smith, Ryleigh Smith, Macie Smith, Lenox Russell, Lawson Russell, Alecx Hough, James Michael Smith, Scout Smith, Mackenzy Shives, Harper Shives, Marley Barker with one more on the way Wilson Barker.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 7th, 6:30pm at The Rock Christian Church (1005 Warren C. Coleman Blvd., Concord, NC 28025) conducted by Pastor Roger Barker.
Flowers may be sent to The Rock Christian Church on Tuesday, June 7th, after 3:30pm.
