Joyce Arleen Adams Thompson, 64, of Rockwell, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.
She was born December 8, 1956 in Salisbury to the late Parks and Nellie Shore Adams. Joyce was a member of the East Rowan Class of 1975. She retired from Thorlo in 2019 and continued to work part-time. Joyce enjoyed fishing at the coast, camping, sewing, making blankets, gardening and canning.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Cranfield, and brother, Kenneth Adams.
Joyce is survived by her husband Kim D. Thompson; daughter, Janice Lovingood of Rockwell; sons, Justin Lovingood and wife Jamie of Rockwell, and Andy Thompson of Rockwell; granddaughter, Callie Thrasher; grandsons, Kendall Burrell, Cameron Jordan, and Carson Lovingood; brothers, Jimmy Adams, and Ronnie Adams; sisters, Carol Gobble, Barbara Pickler, Lynda Cranfield, Susan Shinn, and Betty Jordan.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at the Rockwell American Legion Post 112 8580 US-52, Rockwell, NC 28138 with Mike Shinn officiating.
The family ask that guests please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Our deepest condolences on the passing of Joyce. She always took charge of the kitchen and food at the Shore family reunions and we are forever grateful. Joyce was a great lady and she will be missed by all who knew her.
