Mark and family and Joyce and Mark,
I was saddened by the news of your Mom’s passing. She was such a gentle woman who was loved by all who knew her. In her later years spent in N. Carolina, we missed her at Bridge. When I told Buddy (your Dad’s walking buddy) and Randi Byron, his wife, they were sad. Buddy really misses the presence of your Dad. They solved all the world’s problems in their walks around Deepwood Drive.
The neighborhood is forever changing and the oldies, like me, are still hanging on. May the two of them rest in peace. They were the “good” people and I have them in my prayers.

To the Wilson family,
So sorry to hear of the passing of your mother, grandmother, Aunt and friend to so many. Dan and Laura grew up with your parents. Joyce was one of their substitute teachers in the Avon school system. They were sad to hear of her passing, she was such a sweet lady. Yes, a dear woman and neighbor. She is at peace and with Don! Amy will miss them both! Prayers for comfort for all.

To the Wilson Family,
I have had the honor of knowing Joyce many years as a substitute in Avon Connecticut. She was always my go to sub. When she was in the building for another person, we would catch up. Joyce was one of the kindest, sweetest people I have ever met. I will truly miss her.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Dear Joyce & Mark and Mark & Phyllis, Carolyn and Andrew-
Thank you for the lovely note regarding your mom’s(grandmom’s) passing. I had the privilege of knowing her through the Avon school system as did my two sons. She was the sweetest person, and I always enjoyed chatting with her about her travels. I can still see her at AHS library with her Nook in hand—an avid reader and wonderful role model for the students. Joyce was so loved by all the students and high school students can be challenging BUT never for your mom. When I made the connection that Andrew was her grandson, another friendship developed.
May it comfort you knowing your parents(grandparents) are reunited again. Joyce will truly be missed…a true Southern lady who I had hoped to visit this Spring now that I live in SC.
God Bless you…

Pastor Norb & Geanie Firnhaber says
Joyce was a sweetheart and a rich leaven to our congregational life. Geanie and I have fond memories of Joyce and Don in our Bethany Lutheran parish in West Hartford, CT. A good listener, musician, and friend. Her children are a testament to her calling as a mother as well as teacher. I am honored by the fact that she died on my 75th birthday and now shares the full resurrected presence of the Christ—with no fragments. God’s healing and comfort to all the family. And, Joyce, really appreciated your thoughtful letter…and hope you still give brother Mark a hard time.
