Joyce Annetta Winter Saye, of Rockwell, peacefully crossed over to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at her home. She was born March 9, 1937, in Wheeling, WV to the late Paul Winter and Ann Zednick.
Joyce was a devoted wife and mother. She had a very loving way of making people feel special and she never met a stranger. She worked with the Auburn University Extension Service, she was a high school substitute teacher and worked with her husband at his art gallery. She loved to play cards, scrabble, and bake cookies with her grandchildren. Her hobbies were gardening, stained glass and needlework. Joyce loved to travel with her husband, Frank, in their sailboat, “Argentous”, on the Chesapeake Bay, gathering material for his paintings. Joyce will live forever in our hearts.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 59 years, Franklin A. Saye; son, Franklin A. Saye II of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; daughters, Kelly Lynn Roebuck of Virginia Beach, VA; Karen Medley (Terry) of Rockwell, NC; Judi Elliott (Duane) of Chester, VA; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul R. Winter of Orlando, FL; brother in law, Charles Kincaid of Concord, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ann Kincaid; and sister in law, Genevieve Winter.
There will be private memorial service held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community HomeCare and Hospice,1024 Albemarle Rd. Suite #904, Troy, NC 27371.
