It’s difficult to imagine not having Judy with us, in all the many groups she gave her time and her generous spirit to in the fight for justice and equality for the oppressed. Her heart was so big and her smile so infectious that one couldn’t help but love her. Outspoken and always, always willing to listen to other views made her a true gift. To her family, we add our voices to the many who are deeply sad at her passing. We want you to know how much she was treasured.
WCJ Women for Community Justice says
On behalf of WCJ (Women for Community Justice), of which Judy was a treasured member, coming on early in the formation of our group, please accept our deepest condolences in your time of loss. Judy was such an amazing part of WCJ! She found many friends among us women of kindred spirit – she was a resister, a fighter, a rebel and all with grace and humor, love and boundless commitment to us, to the community, to the goal of greater understanding of others’ viewpoints and beliefs. She was never afraid to confront, or to express her beliefs. Nor was she ever afraid to say she didn’t know something, needed more information, or disagree – we knew her to always tell her truth and we admired her greatly for that. We in WCJ taught, supported, and listened to one another in times of deep grief as injustices reared their ugly heads. And we did so, as well, in times of joy when we succeeded in achieving a goal we had set. In both times of grief and times of joy, Judy was transparent and honest in her sharing. It made it easier for each of us to reach for the same level of trust. We forever hold her in high regard and envision for her the completion of her journey back to Source.

It is so hard for me to imagine Judy has passed. We worked together at N.E. Medical Center (she in ER & I in Radiology). We also got to share time working as Park Rangers at Frank Liske Park. As I stated on Facebook, she was the only ranger beside myself that loved our wildlife residents. This puts a big dent in my heart, & my heart goes out to her family at this difficult time. Judy, we love you & will miss you.

To Judy’s family our deepest sympathy and regrets at her death. I knew her from our days at Mt. Zion and from South Rowan. Husband Bob from South Rowan Class of 1964. Although we did not see each other often, it was a pleasure to be with her at reunions. She will be sincerely missed. Prayers for peace to family members and friends. Judy and Bob Shinn

We were sadden to hear of the death of our dear cousin, Judy. She was always like sunshine with her pretty smile. May God’s grace and mercy be with the family to give comfort and love.
Pam Turner Martin (aka Susie) says
Judy, I’m going to miss you…friend and cousin…like a sister to me! When we meet again, we’ll have plenty of time to reminisce about all the fun we had together as cousins and playmates, roaming that little town of Landis on our bikes…being totally oblivious, as children, to the injustices and inequalities and prejudices we learned about as adults. I’ll miss our times talking about life and challenges and family and love and whatever else came to mind. May God hold you in his arms with love and grace…till we meet again!
