Judy “Willie” Emmaline Crews, 70, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at her residence.
She was born April 30, 1948 in Salisbury, NC to the late Grady Wilhelm and Esther Plowman Wilhelm. Judy graduated from Belmont High School in Gaston County and attended Lenoir Rhyne University majoring in History. Later she attended Montreat College, majoring in Business. She loved traveling, reading, and enjoyed living on the lake. Judy loved her family and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
In addition to her father, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, James “Rudy” Crews.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Miki Starnes (Jeff) of Salisbury; mother, Esther Plowman Wilhelm of Todd; grandchildren, Britini Kendrick (Allen) of Rockwell; Hanna Starnes (Stephen) of Crouse; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Christian; brother, Steve Wilhelm (Anne) of Cornelius; sister, Susan Wilhelm-Krider (Randy) of Todd; step-sons, Ron Crews (Kathy), Ritchie Crews, Rudy Lee Crews, and Russell Crews; and her large and loving extended family members.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on June 9, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 205 St Paul Church Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146, with Pastor, DJ Lura officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ALS Association – North Carolina Chapter, 4 N. Blount St., Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27601 and to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care, 720 Grove Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.

Judy and I worked together several years. She was a great employee and always a pleasure to be around, never said anything bad about anyone. She dearly loved Rudy and her daughter. Prayers and thoughts are with the family.
