Kathleen Marie Gehr, 65, of Linwood, NC, fell asleep in death Friday June 2, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Kathy was born March 16, 1958 in Lancaster, PA to Patricia and Robert Mathias.
Kathy publicly symbolized her dedication to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on November 15, 1987. She held dear, and enjoyed sharing with others, the comforting words and beautiful hope for the future that the Bible provides.
Kathy enjoyed cooking, crafting, knitting, sewing, movies, music, and gardening, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family playing games and talking for hours.
She is survived by her husband, Chris, whom she married on June 16, 1984. Her two daughters, Melissa Shank and husband, Joseph; Heather Tussey and husband, Michael; and her beloved granddaughter, Madison Tussey. Her mother, Patricia Mathias; her brother, Rob Mathias and wife Alice; her sister, Karen Brady and husband Mike; her sister, Kim Herl and husband Robbie; many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Robert Mathias, and her brother, Robert Mathias II.
A memorial service will be held Saturday June 17, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 130 Fuller Street, Lexington, NC 27292.

She was such an amazing person. I remember how wonderful she was to me growing up. So many laughs and hugs. I am so sorry for your loss Chris, Heather and melissa.

We just learned of Kathy’s passing. We had many happy conversations in our home, two decades ago, and although we have not seen her in some time, her wit and sincerity remain treasured memories. Until we see you again, dear sister……..
