Linda Rodden Turner, age 76, made her final journey home on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, surrounded by her family.
She was born March 10, 1943, in Charlotte, NC to the late Archie Herman and Grace Morris Rodden. After dating him for 3 years, she married the love of her life, Charles R. Turner, in 1962. Linda was a friend to all who met her, a gentle and graceful lady who loved her Lord. She was the first to pray for her family or a friend in need, and always a support to those she loved. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone or anything; she was the epitome of Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also, forgave you in Christ.” She loved her family more than anything! Traditions were built on the special moments she made with her family, and those traditions will be carried on for many years to come.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Charles; Son, Scott (Tammy); Daughter, Lori; Granddaughters, Tiffanie (Tori), and Brandy (Brian); 6 Great-grandchildren; Brothers Herman (Barbara) Rodden, Charles (Cindy) Rodden; Sisters, Barbara Bye, and Karen (Rich) Browder; and many nieces and nephews. All of whom will miss her love and laughter.
Please join us in the celebration of her life on Monday, September 9, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Derita Baptist Church, 2835 W. Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28262. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte.
The family would like to take this time to thank the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte, especially Jamilia, her twice a week “spa lady”, and Cheryl, her main nurse. They became part of our
family, and we are forever indebted to them for the loving care they provided for our Linda.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Turner family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.
A LIFETIME GIFT
A Tribute to Linda Rodden Turner
God gave you to us
to light up our world,
you brought love, life, and laughter
and a prayer that would cure.
You taught us and tamed us
you gave all that you had,
you created within us
a reason to be glad.
We miss your bright laughter
your kind, gentle touch;
the road that lies before us
seems rocky and rough.
Our voices sing your praises
though our hearts are in pain;
we know you are with Jesus
our loss is His gain.
We love you and miss you
but His promises are true;
we will walk here on earth
till God brings us home to you.

Linda was beautiful inside and outside. My heart aches for the loss of her and is joyful for having known her. Only regret is not seeing her and you too Charles enough. Love to you and your family.

Oh Charles, I am so sorry to learn that Linda died. The memories flood my mind. I am so glad that y’all came to the beach to see us. It thrilled Mickey to see you again. He is gone and now Linda is too. We had some good times double dating way way back. Remember the time Linda and I cooked that big spaghetti dinner at her house for you and Mickey? Linda was so pretty. We both truly was married to our soul mates. You are going to miss her so much but you will have family and friends to help you and most of all the Lord that she loved, so let Him give you the strength you need to go on. I will think of you and pray that you get through this, I know you will.

I am so sorry to learn of Linda’s passing. Though I didn’t have many occasions to see Linda when I did she glowed just as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. I know her passing will leave a big hole in your family. We are all better for having known her.
