Linwood “Red” Palmer Dowdy Jr., 68, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in  Charlotte, NC.

He was born May 26, 1955 in Silas City, NC to the late Linwood Dowdy Sr. and Eleanor Jean Bynum Dowdy. Linwood worked as a shipping and receiving supervisor for Walmart. He loved mustangs, racing and was a jack of all trades. Most of all, he loved and cherished his wife and children. Linwood was a member and elder at Conquerors International Outreach Ministry.

In addition to his mother, Linwood is survived by his wife, Casandra Dowdy; children, Tiffany Worthy (Kenrick Harper), Natasha Worthy (Ryan Byrd), Cassandra Worthy, Christopher Worthy (Brittney Walker), and Rodriguez Worthy (Whitney); 10 grandchildren; siblings, Ronald Allen Dowdy (Annette), Sandra Roberta Dowdy (Joe Scales), Ruth Jeanette Dowdy, and Denise Dowdy Simpson (Robert).

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 30th, 2023 at Salisbury Community Development Center, 1400 W Bank St, Salisbury, NC 28144.
