Lisa Dawn Threatt Honeycutt, age 61, of China Grove, NC, passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends on February 10, 2024 after a courageous long battle with early onset Alzheimer’s.
Lisa was born in Concord on December 26, 1962, to Brenda Mull Wise and the late Joel Arthur Threatt. She was a cherished granddaughter and preceded in death by her grandparents Ella Bost Mull, Robert John Mull, Bessie Green Threatt, and Arthur Bruner Threatt. She was the beloved sister of her older brother Joel Robert Threatt.
Lisa was a dedicated Christian who loved Jesus with all her heart. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and relationships.
Lisa graduated from South Rowan High School in 1981 and while she had various other jobs, she dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for children, making a profound impact in the lives of many. Lisa was married to Billy Honeycutt from 1989 to 2020 and shared many loving years raising their three children.
Lisa’s legacy lives on through her three children, Taylor Alexander Honeycutt (wife, Brittany), John Robert Honeycutt (wife, Jamie), and Rachel Honeycutt Hopkins (husband, Nicolas), and her adored grandchildren, Noah, Elijah, Stella Honeycutt and Avery Hopkins. Her passion for family, unwavering love, and the joy she found in caring for others defined her life’s work.
Throughout her battle with early onset Alzheimer’s, Lisa was lovingly supported by her family and her three very close friends, Tommy and Kim Steele and Trina Crawford, who helped care for her until the very end. Their dedication and love provided great comfort to Lisa and her family during her final years. Her strong will to live, unshakeable faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through until the Lord called her home.
Lisa was a lifelong member of Landis Baptist Church, and served faithfully as a pastor’s wife for 16 years,
embodying a spirit of generosity, kindness, humbleness, and devoted faith that touched the hearts of all
who knew her. Her commitment to Christ and her church family was evident in everything she did.
Visitation for Lisa will be held at Landis Baptist Church, 110 N. Kimmons St., Landis, NC, on February 17, 2024, from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. The family invites friends and loved ones to join in celebrating Lisa’s life and homegoing.
Lisa’s love, kindness, and legacy will forever be remembered by all who were blessed to know her. She
encouraged her children to always do their best and made sure they knew that no one on earth would
ever love them more than she did. She was not just a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend;
she was a light in the lives of many, and her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

Such precious memories of a “true lady”!! Always beautiful inside and out. She was always someone we could confide in and trust. She “bloomed where she was planted” and fulfilled all of her roles humbly, quietly, forgivingly, and perfectly. She loved the Lord, her family, and church family and was faithful to them. She especially had a gift for caring for all children. I will always remember her beautiful smile. So glad to have known her as my sister in Christ and honored to have her as a true friend. I know she is sheltered in the arms of God and I’m looking forward to seeing her again. Love and prayers to all of her family!!

Precious Lisa ❤️ A Proverbs 31:10-31 precious women. Lisa allowed God to use her to be a special blessing to me during a very low and sad time in my life. She wanted to make sure I was alright and that I was loved by the Lord and that God would work all things out for His glory. And Oh how she loved her children !
I will always remember her quite meek spirit and love for Lord. I ‘ll See you in heaven one day soon lisa!

I have had Lisa on my prayer cards for several years. God heals some people here and now…He heals others by taking them home to heaven. Lisa was one of those! Just reading the obituary and seeing how beautiful she was took me back to Landis Baptist in the 1950’s!! Ella’s Mull has passed her musical talent to Brenda and in other ways to Lisa, Joey and all the Family. God bless you all!!

Brenda, although we did not know each other well (we met at the PH), I was very fond of your daughter Lisa. When visiting my mom at the Preston House, I always looked forward to seeing Lisa. She had a beautiful smile and aura around her always and she always brought a smile to my face. I always admired from afar what a wonderful family she has. She certainly arrived in heaven and hopefully she and my mom have found one another. May fond memories bring you and your family peace and comfort. Many blessings to you and yours,
