Mackenzie Lynne Kerrigan, 18, of Huntersville, passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at her home surrounded by family. Mackenzie was born on October 21, 2000 in Reston, VA to Michael Joseph Kerrigan and Kathryn Meredith Kerrigan.
Mackenzie attended school at W.A. Hough High School in Cornelius and she enjoyed listening to Country music, laughing and smiling with her family. She loved being around her classmates at school, watching her bright colored videos, blowing kisses and holding hands.
She is preceded in death by her Maternal grandmother, Linda Campbell Allen; her Maternal Great Grandmother, Helen Meyer Campbell; and her Paternal Great Grandmother, Frances Fort.
In addition to her parents, Mike and Meredith Kerrigan, Mackenzie is survived by her siblings, Michaela Rose Kerrigan, Madeline Elise Kerrigan, Bradley Kerrigan and wife Cheryl, Brandi Kerrigan and husband Ryan, and Aimee Diggs and husband Kevin; her Grandfather, John Robert Fort and wife Donna; Grandfather, William Kerrigan; and Grandmother, Shirley Kerrigan; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nurses who took care of her lovingly.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on May 5, 2019 from 1pm to 4:30 pm at the Kerrigan home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mackenzie’s name to St Judes Children’s Hospital and Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County.
