Marilyn Jo Harner Simiele Caddle, died peacefully at The Laurels in Salisbury on Tuesday afternoon, May 30, 2017.
Born May 8, 1944 in Xenia, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marjorie Wallace Harner of Xenia, Ohio. She graduated from Xenia High School in 1962 and Ohio Wesleyan in 1966.
Ms. Caddle went to work at Virginia Beach Social Services as a Social Worker, worked in the Exceptional Children program for New Bern City Schools and later had a lengthy career in real estate where she co-owned a realty business, Homes of New Bern, Inc.
After moving to Salisbury, NC in 2000, she enjoyed working as a substitute teacher for the Rowan-Salisbury School System and Sacred Heart Catholic School. She also enjoyed her time working with the Rowan County Board of Elections.
Ms. Caddle was a member of First United Methodist Church of Salisbury, and was involved with her beloved Seekers Sunday School class. She was a past President and Co-President of her Wellington Hills Homeowners Association.
She is survived by JJ Caddle of New Bern, NC, her Aunt Ann Ledbetter of Xenia, OH, as well as her sisters, Phyllis Harner Knisley of Fairborn, OH and Betsy Harner of Xenia, OH. She is also survived by her 3 daughters, Suzanne Simiele Sibert (Scot) of Fort Mill, SC, Jody Simiele Price (Stan) of Salisbury, NC, Beth Simiele Weaver (Cameron) of Cary, NC and 5 grandsons, Jackson, Connor, Brice, Evan and Hayden.
Service: The memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Salisbury on Saturday, June 3rd at 1pm with a reception to follow.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The SECU Family House at 1970 Baldwin Lane Winston Salem, NC 27103, which supports families of patients in hospitals.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the care and comfort offered by the Seekers Sunday School class, the staff at The Laurels and Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.
