Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

Marsha Gayle Herman Boger, 74, of Rockwell NC, slipped quietly into the arms of Jesus on Friday February 7, 2025. Her long years of being on oxygen and struggling to breathe due to pulmonary fibrosis came to a peaceful end at exactly 10:20 AM.
She was born on Easter Sunday April 9, 1950 in Cabarrus County to the late Sam L. and Elsie Bumgarner Herman.
Marsha graduated from South Rowan in 1968 and then UNC-Charlotte in 1972 with a Bachelor’s in English. She worked at Cannon Mills until her daughter was born. Her focus then became being a wife and mother. She was involved in the PTA, volunteered at Rockwell Elementary School, and was a proud marching band parent at East Rowan High School.
She was always different and often late to family gatherings, but she found where she belonged on October 12, 1962 when she accepted Christ into her heart. Her “happy place” memory was riding Amy’s horse Chief at lightning fast speeds around the pasture.
She loved animals, rescuing a baby pig as a child and keeping it in her basement until it was old enough to rejoin the litter. She loved to sew, finishing her dress 30 minutes before she needed to wear it to her wedding. She listened to Joyce Meyer, read The Salisbury Post, loved chicken livers, and ate yogurt and ice cream sandwiches frequently.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death on October 20, 2015 by her husband Jerry Wayne Boger born on June 8, 1949 who she married on November 6, 1970.
Left to cherish her memory are her only daughter Amy Gayle Boger and husband Jonathan Daniel Turner, brother Mike (Becky) Herman Sr, niece Alisa Rogers, nephew Mike Herman Jr. (Kelli Kent), cousin Nancy Wilson; brother-in-law James (Judy) Boger, sister-in-law Sherry (Ronnie) Fowler; extra daughters Tricia Bloomfield and Patty (Keith) Elliott, and high school friend Dianne Wike Agee. Her faithful rescued dog Penny, as well as her granddogs Paige and Jade, were with her when she passed.
There will be no formal services. A private celebration of life took the form of a spontaneous day trip to the Asheboro Zoo on Sunday, February 9 with perfect weather. She encouraged others to “Trust God and do good.” She bravely chose whole body donation to educate upcoming doctors at Wake Forest on her unusual lung disease.
The family wants to extend their heartfelt gratitude to each person at Trellis Supportive Care who helped to quickly provide hospice care for Marsha in Amy and Jonathan’s home. It takes a village of support and they continue to “feel the love” of God’s perfect timing.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Carolina Value Pet Care, PO Box 1923, Concord, NC 28026 to help those who cannot afford basic care for their pets. Make sure to mention “In Memory of Marsha” with your donation.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Boger family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

What a beautiful soul Marsha was!! Some of my favorite summer evenings were sitting on the porch with her listening to her talk about Jesus. She saved me in so many ways, her calm voice and love just brought so much peace to your world. She often saved me books to read and encouraged my journey with the Lord. She will be so missed. I know she’s walking with our Savior, and I smile imagining what she’s seeing. ❤️
