Mary Beth Schrecengost Arrigo, 70, of Kannapolis, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2026 surrounded by family. She was born in Whittaker, PA on November 26, 1955, to the late Raymond Schrecengost and Margaret Meister.
Beth attended graduate school at Duquesne University and received a PhD in Hypnotherapy, focusing primarily on existential phenomenology. As a psychotherapist for over 30 years, Beth’s heart and compassion was to work towards helping
Her love was unsurpassed, her wisdom unmatched.
In addition to her parents, Beth was preceded in death by her eldest sister, Rae Kleiman.
Beth is survived by her husband Roland D. Webb of Kannapolis, her children, Rebecca Arrigo and Anthony Arrigo, and her two sisters Faye Grace Wilson and Linda Boyd.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in October along with an intimate memorial Saturday, June 20th.

To Beth’s family,
I never had the privilege of meeting you, but over the years I felt like I knew you because Beth spoke of you so often and with so much love. She shared stories that reflected her pride in her family, and because of that, I want you to know how deeply she was loved and appreciated by those of us who had the privilege of being her patients.
For the past several days, I had been texting Beth because I couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right. When I didn’t hear back, I finally searched her name online, hoping to find an explanation that would reassure me. Instead, I found her obituary. In an instant, my hope was replaced by heartbreak. I am still struggling to comprehend that someone who walked beside me through so many of life’s hardest moments is gone.
Beth gave me a gift that is difficult to describe. She created a space where I could be completely honest, where I felt seen, heard, and accepted without judgment. She celebrated my victories, sat with me through my pain, challenged me when I needed it, and gently helped me find my way back to myself. The trust she built was extraordinary. Even now, when life feels overwhelming, my instinct was to reach for her.
The last “rule” Beth gave me to live by is one I will carry for the rest of my life: “When you can do nothing else: eat when you’re hungry, drink when you’re thirsty, and rest when you’re tired.” Those words may sound simple, but they embody the compassion she so naturally extended to others. They remind me that caring for myself is not something I have to earn. Every time I remember them, I will remember her.
I hope it brings you some measure of comfort to know that Beth’s legacy extends far beyond the walls of her office. She changed lives. She certainly changed mine. The kindness, wisdom, hope, and healing she gave so freely will continue to live on in the countless people fortunate enough to have known her.
Thank you for sharing Beth with all of us. I will miss her more than words can express, but I will spend the rest of my life grateful that our paths crossed.
