Mary Elizabeth Hinkle Foster, 86, of Lexington, formerly of Welcome, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Brookstone Retirement Center in Lexington. Mary was born on July 19, 1926 in Davidson County, a daughter of the late Norfleet and Lottie Tarleton Hinkle.
Mary was graduate of Welcome High School, she was the owner and operator of her own hair salon. Mary was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, and a member of the Open Door Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by sisters, Helen Brinkley and Alice Mae Thomason.
Survivors: Mary is survived by her daughters, Debra Berrier and husband Roger of Lexington and Mitzi Branch and husband Phillip Berrier of Welcome; brother, Jimmy Hinkle and wife Betty of Welcome. Grandchildren, Brandy White, Chris Berrier and wife Julie, Leslie Chisler and husband Patrick, and Emily Gathings and husband Michael, and 8 great grandchildren.
Service: There will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Dennis Marshall, Pastor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church 2922 Bethesda Road Lexington NC 27292 or to Great Things Outreach c/o Bethesda United Methodist Church .

i loved mary foster so much she was like my 2nd mom i got attached to her to so much that i would see to see her and myrtle which was her room mate we laughed together and smiled together and even shared stories together me, mary and myrtle would watch tv together and tell jokes and everything i cant believe she is gone but i know she is in a much better place
