Melvin Franklin Cranfield, 61, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born in Rowan County on December 5, 1952 a son of the late Harold Franklin Cranfield and Lucille Casper Cranfield.
Melvin attended East Rowan High School and was a long distance truck driver. A member of Canaan Baptist Church, he was an gifted wood worker, avid fisherman and loved being with family.
Survivors include son, Brian S. Cranfield and wife, Stacy of Salisbury; daughters, Amanda Cranfield of Salisbury, and Heather Cranfield Asheland, VA; brothers, Ronnie Cranfield and Lonnie Cranfield; sisters, Brenda Honeycutt of Woodleaf, Althea Scoggins of Holden Beach and Susan Murray of Granite Quarry; grandchildren, Devon Morgan, Dakota Cranfield, Summer Cranfield, Sumi Cranfield, Micheal Barnes, Mia Cranfield and Keegan Cranfield. .
A Memorial Service will be held at Canaan Baptist Church on Saturday October 25, 2014, at 11:00 AM.
