Melvin Lee Pepper, Jr, 53 of Salisbury, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center-Main in Charlotte.
Melvin was born on October 20, 1962 to Melvin Lee Pepper, Sr. and Barbara Gunter Pepper.
He graduated with the Class of 1981 from East Rowan High School. Melvin was a life long mechanic with Pepper’s Garage and owned and operated Pepper Trucking.
He loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycles and working on old Ford engines, the faster the better. He loved to smoke a good cigar and did not meet a stranger. Once a friend of Mel’s you were always considered a friend.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Kimberly Upright Pepper whom he married May 3, 1997 and his children Madeline M. Pepper, son Samuel L. Pepper and brother Jeffrey L. Pepper and wife “Fran” of Salisbury.
Thursday, July 14, 2016 a visitation will be held at 10:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, there will be a college fund set up for the children, please contact Kimberly Pepper for more details.
