Michael Christopher Booton, 27, of Charlotte, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026.
He was born June 10, 1999 in Geneva, IL to Darin and Debra “Debbie” Clark Booton. Michael was 27 years old and a young man with a big heart who loved deeply, lived passionately, and touched the lives of those who knew him. Michael worked in HVAC and was passionate about everything he did. He enjoyed all sports and a special in his heart for animals, especially those who needed a second chance. His compassion showed through his decision to over two older dogs and a cat, giving them the love and home they deserved. Michael loved with his whole heart, especially his family and girlfriend, Katie. He was incredibly thoughtful, always putting care and meaning into the gift he gave and finding ways to make those he loved feel special.
Although, Michael struggled with addiction, his struggles did not define him. He was so much more than battles he faced. He was a son, a brother, a loving partner, an animal lover, and a young man with hopes, dreams, and so much love to give.
Michael will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, kind heart, his thoughtfulness, and the love he shared freely. We will not remember Michael for his battles he fought, but for the beautiful person he was, the person he was striving to become, his smile and laugh and the love he leaves behind. He will forever be loved, deeply missed, and always in our hearts.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandpa, Bob; grandma and grandpa, Booton.
Michael is survived by his loving family; mom, Debbie; dad, Darin; sisters, Shelby and Brianna; uncle, Gary; aunt, Colleen; grandma, Gerri; uncle, Derrick (Cheryl); uncle, Darrell (Carrie); aunt, Denise; cousins, Ben, Ethan, Madeline (Alex), Andrew, Emily, Patrick, Joey; his girlfriend, Katie.
