Michael David Morris, 66, better known as “Mike” to those that knew him, passed away
on May 17, 2026, in Charlotte, NC. He was born on February 11, 1960, in Philadelphia,
PA to the late Glendora (Mills) Morris and George David Morris. He was also preceded
in death by his brother, Scott Morris.
He is survived by his children, Danielle Shatto (Skeeter Shatto), Dustin Morris (Kayla
Morris), and Jaquelyn Henderson (Brandon Henderson); his grandchildren, Brianna
Shatto, Caylin Shatto, Arya Morris, and Riley Henderson; and long-time friends Mark
and Deb Konzer.
Mike was a truck driver for many years, with his most recent work involving hauling race
cars and trucks- a fitting role for someone who had a love for cars, motorcycles, and
being out on the road. In recent years, he preferred a quieter life at home.
Mike was strong-willed, fiercely loyal and known for his sarcastic sense of humor that
touched many lives resulting in an abundance of life-long friends and loved ones. If he
cared about you, it was shown in his own unmistakable way.
Mike lived life on his own terms, full throttle and unapologetically himself. He was
always there when someone needed a hand, a listening ear, or quiet support. He will be
deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In accordance with Mike’s wishes, he will be cremated and later laid to rest in the ocean
alongside his mother.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Morris family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

All our love to Jackie Dustin and Danielle, Michael was my oldest friend on the planet, we met racing dirt bikes on some open acreage of land in New Jersey when we were kids and enjoyed a lifetime of fun freedom and brotherhood ever since everything from skiing the Pocono mountains to packing up after high school in a Vega and driving to Florida, fishing the outer banks raising our families together, towards the latter part of our lives we didn’t get to spend alot of time together but alway stayed in touch for holidays birthdays and the occasional reminiscing of the old day, I will truly miss you brother but I’m confident we’ll see each other again

All my thoughts from prayers go out to Mike’s family. Mike and I got to know each other when we were working with Joe gives racing. He drove the 18 truck for Mark. We had such a good time got to become great friends I sure do miss him Mike and I talked everyday, he was so funny we would talk anything and everything Most interesting thing was his trucking and heavy hauling I really miss talking with him and laughing and telling jokes. I considered like as being one of my best friends he was the type of person that would do anything for anybody well what I loved more about him was his opinions

My deepest condolences to the entire Morris family. I first met Mike back in the mid 1970s in high school. We made an instant connection and shared, similar interest and likes. Mike always had a way of filling up a room with Joy and excitement with his off-the-wall comments and charm! Along with our good friend Scott, we had many fun adventures together. I only wish we had kept in touch more often. Until we meet again my friend, enjoy the highway in the sky.

Some of my fondest memories include Mike Morris and Scott Milloy. We met in junior high. We enjoyed hanging out at Mike’s house watching martial arts movies and eating cans of Charlie’s Chips. When the movie “Smokey and the Bandit” first came out we saw it several times most likely forming Mike’s love of trucks, the south and an open highway. It’s been decades since we each went our separate ways. I’m happy to learn Mike lived the life he loved and look forward to the day we meet again. God bless.

I’ve tried to write a message here a couple of times, but I can’t ever get my thoughts together. This one hurts. Mikey and I had a lot of good times together, whether it was running up and down the roads together or just sitting at home cooking and drinking. Him and I hit it off from day one, the first time we met I knew I had a true friend in him. There are too many stories to list here so I won’t even start. Mikey, I love you brother.
