Michael “Mike” James Martin, 72, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
He was born September 28, 1949 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Grayson “GC” Martin, Jr. and Doris Ross Martin. Michael proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Freightliner and was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
Michael is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dorma Lee Martin; daughter, Kim Bridges of Ellenboro, NC; grandchildren, Tyler Bridges and Garrett Bridges; brother, Shannon Martin and wife, Brenda of Rock Hill, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 2, 2021 at Enon Baptist Church, 1875 Enon Church Rd, Salisbury, NC 28147, at 2pm. A Celebration of Life will follow beginning at 3pm, with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Enon Baptist Church, 1875 Enon Church Rd, Salisbury, NC 28147.

I have known Mike for most of my life, from Mt. Vernon School, Boy Scouts Troop 134 and as a Hilltopper. Mike was always making people happy as I know he was to his family. Dorma, you have my deepest sympathy and prayers! But you had one of the best and wonderful memories. Mike is flying with the angels and making heaven a happier place.
