Mr. Joe Franklin Carpenter, 61, of Concord passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family. Joe was born on July 12, 1951 in Cabarrus County a son of the late Floyd Glenn Carpenter and Mary Adaline Robinson Carpenter.
Joe attended Mount Pleasant High School and was a brick mason and worked with Morgan Masonry. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Carpenter and Ray Carpenter.
Survivors include his companion Pam Carpenter; son, Joseph “Joey” Carpenter and wife “Amy” of Concord; daughter, Lora Carpenter Teal and husband, TJ, of Kannapolis; four brothers, Calvin Carpenter of Ridge Crest, Pink carpenter of Spencer, Leonard Carpenter of Albemarle, and Floyd Carpenter of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Helen Benton of Kannapolis, and Fannie Stegall of West Virginia; six grandchildren, Casey Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, Travis Gaston, Shealynn Furr, Alissa Furr and Dakoda Teal.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday December 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 9601 Robinson Church Road, Harrisburg, NC 28075, conducted by Rev. Ray Helms, pastor.
