Mrs. Hazel Diane Zern, 61, of Statesville, NC passed away on April 1, 2013 at Carolina Medical Center Main in Charlotte, NC. Hazel was born on February 1, 1951 in New Castle, Delaware to Mr. Theodore Roosevelt Conley Sr. and Hazel Westover. Mrs. Zern was a Veteran having proudly served in the US Army during Vietnam.
Hazel loved bowling and was a member of an Amputee Bowling League. She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Statesville, NC where she loved cooking for its members. Hazel enjoyed painting, cooking, and most importantly, spreading the word of God to anyone that would listen. Hazel never met a stranger and loved her family first and foremost.
In addition to her father, Hazel is preceded in death by a brother, Theodore Roosevelt Conley Jr..
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Zern is survived by her husband, Robert Zern; a son, Teddy Wayne Zern and wife Marlena of Princeton, WV; a daughter, Leslie Marie Inman and husband Orlando of Cameron, NC; grandchildren, Helena, Melanie, Melissa, Kayla, Kristin, and Megan; and great grandchildren, D’Marion, Tylei, Najiah, and Kami.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Cornerston Church, 650 Glover St., Statesville NC, 28625, conducted by Pastor Grover Crosswright.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 12:00 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury NC, 28144.
