On Tuesday June 20th 2023, Nell Yost Winecoff went home to be with Jesus at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center peacefully in her sleep. She was 82 years old.
Nell is survived by her husband, Boyce Eugene Winecoff, their sons, Todd and Dallas Winecoff; her sister, Faye Yost Carter of Rowan County, as well as her 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Myrtle Yost; her siblings, Everette, Irene, Ilene, Paul, Carol Sue; and her son, Preston Scott Winecoff.
Nell was born on February 25th 1942 in Rowan County. She graduated China Grove High School in 1960 and later attended Forsyth College studying TV/VCR repair. Additionally she did the books for the family business, Winecoff Pest Control.
Boyce and Nell started dating the summer of 1958 and were married on August 6th 1961. Boyce went into the Navy that September. They were married for 61 years. They welcomed Todd Wayne on May 22nd 1967, Preston Scott on March 12th 1970 and Dallas Kirk on June 23rd 1975.
A memorial service is scheduled for July 9th, 2023, 2-4pm at World Hope Worship Center at 2203 Mooresville Rd. Salisbury. The family requests that all memorials be sent to Shriners Hospitals for Children at Donate.lovetotherescue.org.
