Odis Perry Lowman, Jr., 82, of Salisbury, NC, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026 at his home on Bringle Ferry Road.
Perry was born September 21, 1943 in Starke, Florida to the late Odis Perry Lowman, Sr. and Claudia Brown Lowman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Lowman.
Perry retired from Norandal USA in 2014, and was previously a bread man for Sunbeam Bakery. He served as a Highway Patrolman in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s stationed in Vance and Randolph Counties. He was a Founding Member of Lake Community Church. He played baseball throughout his lifetime; if he was not playing he was watching, at Rowan Legion or East Rowan High School. In his later years, he donated his time to refereeing and umpiring. He enjoyed fishing, eating, reading, and traveling with Carole, and spending time with his family and friends.
Perry is survived by his wife Carole Trexler Lowman, whom he married September 30, 1962. In addition to his children Dennis (Denise) Lowman of Bismarck, ND; Wendy (Donnie) Pressley of Gold Hill, NC; Christie (Wes) Fulk of Faith, NC; and Toni Lowman of Salisbury, NC. His grandchildren Whitney (Cale), Lindsay (Matthew), Kayla, Danielle (Collin), Hannah, Lanie, Kourtney, and Austin; and 10 great grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Susan (Dan) Crosby of China Grove, NC. As well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Lake Community Church with Dr. Matt Oakley officiating. The family will gather with loved ones, after the service, and encourages others to share their love for Perry at that time.
