Odis Perry Lowman, Jr., 82, of Salisbury, NC, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026 at his home on Bringle Ferry Road.
Perry was born September 21, 1943 in Starke, Florida to the late Odis Perry Lowman, Sr. and Claudia Brown Lowman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Lowman.
Perry retired from Norandal USA in 2014, and was previously a bread man for Sunbeam Bakery. He served as a Highway Patrolman in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s stationed in Vance and Randolph Counties. He was a Founding Member of Lake Community Church. He played baseball throughout his lifetime; if he was not playing he was watching, at Rowan Legion or East Rowan High School. In his later years, he donated his time to refereeing and umpiring. He enjoyed fishing, eating, reading, and traveling with Carole, and spending time with his family and friends.
Perry is survived by his wife Carole Trexler Lowman, whom he married September 30, 1962. In addition to his children Dennis (Denise) Lowman of Bismarck, ND; Wendy (Donnie) Pressley of Gold Hill, NC; Christie (Wes) Fulk of Faith, NC; and Toni Lowman of Salisbury, NC. His grandchildren Whitney (Cale), Lindsay (Matthew), Kayla, Danielle (Collin), Hannah, Lanie, Kourtney, and Austin; and 10 great grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Susan (Dan) Crosby of China Grove, NC. As well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Lake Community Church with Dr. Matt Oakley officiating. The family will gather with loved ones, after the service, and encourages others to share their love for Perry at that time.

My husband and myself had the pleasure of an empty seat last week at church right beside Perry. I didn’t know him, but his personality was a magnet. His laughter and conversation made me feel accepted. I’m sad to hear of his passing and my heart goes out to his family and friends. I can feel he is a great loss to many who have known him or maybe even just met him. Praying for all of you but rejoicing for Perry.

I am saddened to hear of Perry’s passing and heartfelt condolences to you all. My recollection of staying with y’all when I was 10 years old, playing with Dennis and Wendy, is a cherished memory. Perry was a gentleman and a senior of the Lowman cousins.

It was very sad news when Susan called me Friday morning to inform me that our first cousin
Perry had passed away. During the past 80 years we have spent many weeks with the Lowmans.
I will never forget the fun times we enjoyed, especaily the Starke, FL holiday. Perry, Bob and I
enjoyed many NASCAR events and Atlanta Braves games over the past 40 years. I do know that
Perry belived in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9 & 10) and today he is strolling the Streets Paved of Gold and overlooking the Crystal Sea with family members. One of these days when The Good Lord calls me home, I will stroll the Streets Paved of Gold with Perry, Bob and
Uncle Odis.

Carole, This is Buster. I wrote earlier so if this is a duplicate I am sorry. I am so sorry to hear of Perry’s death. He was one of my favorite people in the world. We started in little league baseball and were friends for the rest of our lives even if I couldn’t hit his fastball. We played basketball every day in the summers and laughed so hard because we played “shirts and skins” even though our skins were different colors. We could not see each other without laughing and chatting for longer than we should. Beneath that funny man was a very sincere caring friend. I am so sorry that I missed his funeral, I read it last night after being away a few days. I would love to talk to you if you would email me.
