Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
The best daddy and husband, Oscar Leonard Coley, 67, of Concord, went to be with Jesus Thursday Jan 26, 2017 at his daughters home. He passed with a smile on his face knowing the angels were there to take him home.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents Oscar Raymond Coley and Anna Willadean Baucom Coley Hucks. Also a brother, Chuck Coley.
Daddy was a truck driver all of his life, but he was also a jack of all trades. He could fix, build or modify just about anything he set his mind to do. This probably came from growing up on a farm, where you fix things with what you have available. He also taught Sunday school for 33 years and knew the Bible inside and out. He loved to talk about Jesus and how his life had been changed by having a personal relationship with him.
Daddy and Momma would’ve been married for fifty years this coming July 7, 2017. Daddy told momma Wednesday night, that they would celebrate their anniversary in heaven when she got there. He would be waiting for her at the pearly gates, and when Jesus opened them, he would come out and get her.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 49 years, Flonnie Maxine Helms Coley. Three children, Jr. Coley and wife, Carol, Rhonda Coley Greenwood and husband Scott, Angela (Angie) Coley Hahn and husband Jason. He also had three grandchildren, Kayla and Justin Greenwood, Anna Hahn, who were his heart and soul. He loved, loved, loved his babies and they loved their pawpaw. One brother, Bill Coley and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday January 29, 2017 at 2:30 PM at Gordon Heights Baptist Church of Concord (510 NC Hwy 49, Concord, NC 28025) conducted by Rev. Matthew Tucker and Rev. Buck Canup. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Mount Pleasant Elementary School Library (8555 North Dr, Mt Pleasant, NC 28124).
The family would like to thank the staff at Carolinas Medical Center Northeast nursing staff ( too many wonderful nurses to name!) Intensive Care Unit, Internal Pulmonary, Dr. Matthew Myers, Dr. Z and Dr. Nathan Larrimore for your compassion while caring for our dad. Also, Hospice of the Charlotte Region, especially Sylvia and Tiwanna. Both of you treated us like family, and we truly appreciate everything.
Carolina Cremation of Salisbury and Charlotte is serving the Coley family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

Dear Coley Family,
We are sorry for your lost. I just would like to share with you something that has given so many people hope. While Jesus was on earth her performed many resurrections. Please read the promise God makes us in John 5:28,29 and Acts 24:15. Soon Jesus promises to also resurrect our loved ones. May God give you strength during this difficult time.
