Pansy Graham Poplin, 84, of Rockwell, passed away on December 14, 2018. Pansy, the daughter of Sie and Beulah Rufty Graham, was born in Salisbury, NC, on February 6, 1934. She married William “Bill” Poplin of Salisbury on July 18, 1953 and spent 64 loving years with Mr. Bill, the last 40+ on their farm off Rockwell Road. Pansy was a member of Rockwell United Methodist Church.
Pansy taught dancing after high school, first in Charlotte and then in Salisbury after her marriage and the birth of her son. After the birth of her daughter, she worked in the cafeteria at East Rowan High School and later at the Meadows of Rockwell. Pansy was a loving and caring person, a true friend, who brought joy and smiles to all she met. She loved animals, children, her family, the Farm, and (maybe more than all the rest) Mr. Bill. She raised her children and helped raise her granddaughters, nieces and nephews, children of neighbors and friends, always providing opportunities for play and journeys of imagination, teaching them the joy and wonders of life and the world around us. Even with her failing health, she continued to greet all she met with a warm smile and gentle touch.
Pansy is survived by her son, Eric Clifford Poplin and daughter-in-law Carol Jane Poplin; her daughter, Selena Rae Poplin; her granddaughters, Ailsa Jean Poplin (Clonts), and Audrey Poplin Ray; great-grandchildren, McLean and Maisie; along with her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Pansy’s Life on February 2, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Rockwell United Methodist Church. Please send honoraria to Rockwell United Methodist Church.
Carolina Cremation of Salisbury and Charlotte is assisting the Poplin family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

So sorry to hear of Pansy’s passing. What a friend!! So much love, so much fun, always a smile, I shared so many fun times, and learned a lot from Pansy. She was the Cheer Leader in the world. She was head of the cheering team at all our games, I learned a lot from her. She was so creative, the teachers let her get to gether for all the school to see the best dance ever, so much fun, such a great friend! She always had a nice word for everyone she knew, always looking to what she could do the next day? Miss you sweet girl, but I know you and Bill are making heaven a little bit more exciting, I know you are teaching the angels a new dance! Lot’s of Love, “Poky” she gave me this name” Always, Ruth Beaver
