Patsy Green Purvis Harwood, 80, of Kannapolis, NC peacefully passed away on June 16, 2016 at Best of Care Assisted Living.

Patsy was born on October 28, 1935 to the late James and Bonnie Purvis in Moore County, NC. Patsy worked for Chesapeake Public Schools for 40 years as a bus driver, and loved those children as they were her very own. She was an amazing cook, as well as the ultimate caregiver. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and traveling to the beach. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and beloved dog Rueben.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons, Jeff Harwood and Nick Harwood; brother, Jimmie Purvis; and sister, Betty Sheppard.

Patsy is survived by her daughter, Shelley Callis and husband Patrick; four grandchildren, Allison Mitcham and husband Ashton, Simon Callis, Bonnie Harwood, Cassidy Harwood; daughter in law, Kay Harwood; two Sisters, Margaret Manness and husband Harrison, Katie Blalock and husband John; brother in law, James Sheppard; and sister in law, Jane Purvis.

There will be a memorial service at 1pm on Saturday June 25, 2016 at High Falls Friends Church, 1159 NC Highway 22, Bennett, NC 27208.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, Best of Care Assisted Living, or High Falls Friends Church.

Carolina Cremation of Salisbury and Charlotte is assisting the Harwood family.
