Christopher Paul Boyd, 67, of Salisbury passed away at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center on October 27, 2025, surrounded by family.

He was born February 15, 1958, in Rowan County, to the late Edward Climmer Boyd and Cassie Marie Earnheart Boyd. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Edward Robin Boyd.

Paul received his education in the Rowan County schools and Rowan Cabarrus Community College. He worked as a welder for many years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, fly fishing, bird watching, and taking long walks. He was an avid Duke fan and loved watching college football. He enjoyed southern gospel music and was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Paul is survived by his son, Matthew Paul Boyd, of Salisbury, his sister, Rebecca “Becky” Boyd Phelps, of Cleveland, Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends and relatives from 4:00 PM until 4:30 PM on Saturday, November 1, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2300 Bringle Ferry Rd., in Salisbury. A memorial service will follow at 4:30 PM at the church.
