Penny Fine Whitley passed away on August 30, 2024.

She was born June 7, 1963, to Esther Morgan Fine and Theodore Fine in Rowan County. She was educated in Rowan County Schools. Penny lived life to the fullest. She was a homemaker and an excellent cook. She loved making large home cooked meals for her family. She also enjoyed travelling to the NC Mountains and just returned from a memorable family trip.

Penny was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, William “Bill” Whitley; her parents and a brother, Buddy L. Catoe, three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.

She is survived by siblings, Betty and John McHone; and Judy Randall of Gold Hill; and Robin Ferretiz of Statesville. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Melinda Lautzenhiser, Robbie and Tommy Catoe, Juanita Bowman, Angela Ferretiz and Jessica Ferretiz.

A private memorial will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
