Perry “Bud” Blaine Holland, 79, of Union Grove, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side, Sunday, December 16, 2018, at the Gordon Hospice House.
Born April 30, 1939, in Iredell County, he was the youngest son of the late Quince T. Holland and Blanche Tutterow Holland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Betty Johnson, Nellie Foreman, Gladys Ginnetti, Ila “Boots” Monico, Laura Wike, and Lenette Murphy, three brothers, Carroll, Richard “RB”, and Herbert Holland, four half-brothers, Sam, George, Aaron, and Claude Holland. He was also preceded in death by a very special nephew, Joe Holland.
Buds passion for fishing was only surpassed by his love of his church family at A Light in the Darkness in Harmony, NC. He attended, Union Grove High School. He entertained many with his storytelling ability, his knack for fixing many original inventions, and his sense of humor.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Patty of 28 years. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Darlene Gardner, and one sister Lura Hoots of Lewisville, NC. A host of nieces and nephews along with is favorite pet “Tippy.”’
A very special friend, Brenda Wallace survives. Her aid over the past year has been invaluable to Bud and Patty.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Saturday December 22, 2018 at A Light in the Darkness Church in Harmony, NC, with ministers Joel Coss and Ernie Bruce officiating. The family will visit with friend from 1:00 until 3:00pm at the church.
