Reneá Faith Rippey Richardson, 62, of Salisbury, North Carolina passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 in her home.
Reneá was born August 25, 1955 in Durham, North Carolina. She continued to live in Durham and work for the State of NC as a Central Sterilization Technician for 30 plus years until she retired and moved to her beloved lake home in Salisbury. Reneá was a diehard Duke Blue Devils fan, some of her favorite past times included watching college basketball and cheering for her beloved Blue Devils, always ready for coach K to “ Put me in Coach, I’m ready.” She also enjoyed being around her family and friends that became family, floating in the water, enjoying a boat ride and most importantly: having a large time.
Reneá was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L Rippey Jr.; two brothers, Ronnie and Tony Rippey; and her two granddogs Rocky and Rue. Reneá leaves behind a loving and heartbroken family including her son, Adam and his wife Priscilla; brother, Gary and sister Jan, as well as many amazing “Cuz’s”, family, and very dear friends.
The family is planning a private service for close friends and family only, as that is what Reneá wanted.
In lieu of flowers, Reneá asked that any monetary donations be made to any charitable organization of our choice.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Richardson family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.
Edna Williams McGuirt says
I am so sorry. Time and distance separated us, but Renea still lives large in my memories of college. I can see her dancing in our dorm room and hear the dual guitars of the Allman Brothers. She was one of a kind and the world is less without her.
