Reverend Jesse Alexander Brown, 80, of Mocksville, passed away on Sunday June 12, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. Mr. Brown was born on April 01, 1936 in Mocksville, NC to the late Odell Brown and Johnsie Mason Brown. He worked and retired from Pilgrim Tsychiatric Center, of Brentwood Long Island NY.
Rev. Brown worked and retired from First Baptist Church in Long Island, NY as the lead pastor where he loved to read the Bible and spread the word of God to whoever would listen. He enjoyed to go fishing and traveling with his family. Jesse was always collecting things and looked for things he thought were of value. He loved to spend time with his friends and family, especially his grand children and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sons, Albert Brown, Walter Brown, and Darrell Steele; two sisters, Jane Belcher, and Lounetta Brown; and three brothers, Clarence Brown, Frank Brown, and Daniel Brown.
Pastor Brown is survived by his wife, Frances Doris Brown; a stepmother, Jaunita Brown; a daughter, Debra Brown of Mocksville; two sons, Daniel Brown and wife Debbie of Mocksville, and Larry Brown and wife Barbra of Mocksville; step-sons, Junie Smith, John Smith, Harold Smith, Gary Smith; step-daughters, Chandra Smith, Cheryl Smith, Melanie Smith, and Lorena Smith; four sisters, Onell Lewis of Mocksville, Wanda Brown of Charlotte, Angela Webb of Waxhaw, and Brenda McDonald of Long Island, NY; a brother, Wayne Brown of Mocksville; a sister-in- law, Ernestine “Teeny” Brown of Lexington; thirteen grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday June 17, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Blaise Baptist Church, in Mocksville, NC conducted by Daniel Brown.
