Richard Dwight Overman Jr. 55, of Salisbury, NC, passed on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025. Born in Salisbury, NC along with two siblings, Richard was the son of the late Dwight Overman Sr. and alive Willie Sue Hodge Overman.

He is married to his wife, Charlene Allen Overman. Richard worked at Freightliner for 28 years in the maintenance department. He faithfully attended Cooleemee Presbyterian Church. Richard was a kind, gentle, loving husband, son, grandpa, and friend to everyone. Richard loved the outdoors and working on lawnmowers, cars, and also to race cars. He loved gardening, teaching his grandchildren many things like: riding four wheelers and motorcycles, fixing cars, swimming and even tying their shoes. He also loved spending time with Bootsie, his cuddle buddie and beloved cat.

Richard is survived by his wife, Charlene Allen Overman; mother, Willie Sue Overman; siblings, Sheila Lyerly and Sharon Denise Overman; niece, Journey Love; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 3 stepsons, Todd and wife, Tina Overcash; Scott Overcash and Traci; and Bobby and wife, Blanca Overcash.

A memorial service will be held at Cooleemee Prebysterian Church, 139 Watt St. Cooleemee, NC 27014 on January 19, 2024 at 3pm, conducted by Pastor Wyatt Grissom. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. If you would like to send flowers, please send them to the church for the service.
